The skid pro industrial grapple rake is a versatile attachment for skid steer loaders that can handle tough landscaping and clearing jobs. It has a heavy-duty design with reinforced tines and a curved rake that can dig, rake, and pile debris. The grapple has a wide opening and powerful clamping force that can secure large loads and prevent spillage. The skid pro industrial grapple rake is ideal for moving brush, logs, rocks, and other materials with ease and efficiency.
The reason this product is called a grapple rake is because it can both be used as a grapple and also a rake. In order to use the product as a rake, you will open the jaws fully, tilt your coupler forward so the top teeth are touching the ground, and then reverse. This will allow for a raking of stick, rock, and more!
With our industrial grapple rake, you can grab and move almost any material. The bottom tines are 1.5 inches thick and durable, so moving boulders and concrete are no problem. Additionally, with the large carrying capacity you can also grab and move large amounts of debris, making this a very versatile product.
I'm Josh with Skid Pro. Today, we're going to take a look at the biggest, toughest, meanest grapple in the Skid Pro lineup, arguably the industry's industrial grapple rake.
Weight: This thing is a monster. The 84-inch grapple behind me tips the scales at just over 1400 pounds fully equipped. This unit is built heavy; it has to be tough to take the bending, prying, and pushing that those big machines can deliver. Where does all that weight come from? Well, let's take a closer look at some of the details on this design.
We start with a solid quick catch plate, a heavily gusseted top lip, and then from there, three-quarter-inch tines that tie into thick-wall three-by-three square tubing, both at the top and bottom of the lower grapple portion. From the bottom of that three-by-three tubing, extending forward, is the one-and-a-half-inch thick tines; this is industry-leading. We top it all off with an aggressive pin-on excavator-style tube.
Now, when we come and look at the top grapple, it's not built quite as heavy, but it still boasts three-quarter-inch industry-leading tines. Not only are they that thick, but they're well reinforced from the front all the way to the bottom—two-by-two square tubing, three-quarter-inch by three-inch flat bar, and one-inch solid bar at the very tips to tie everything together.
Features: What makes this grapple different is its clamshell design. This unique design offers a few different benefits. First, it allows for an extra-large 41-inch opening, which is great for high-volume, low-weight materials such as trees and brush. Second, it allows for back-breaking, where you go backward with the top grapple as your only contact point on the ground. This takes away a lot of that fine hand labor and can leave a nice finish on the project when you're finished. This geometry also has shorter bottom tines than a traditional grapple-style bucket, allowing for very aggressive digging and better penetration to dig up roots, rocks, and more. That's why we call this our "grubbing grapple."
Lastly, it has a very small gap closure. This allows for extra security and tight gripping on loads. The tight gap closure also allows the front grapple to be used for pushing over trees almost in a dozer-like fashion. Everything is protected; the cylinders and hoses are all behind, which allows you to get some added productivity out of this unit.
One of my favorite features of this industrial grapple rake is the bolt-lock top grapple. You can run it with a single top or remove three bolts, and it becomes two independent grapples. That gives you added versatility, allowing you to tailor the grapple to the job at hand, resulting in more productivity and quicker payback.
Both the 72 and 84-inch versions have eight tines on the top and bottom with about 10-inch tine spacing. Now, a few of the details that we've thought of so you don't have to: like all our grapples, we run protected hose routing throughout, have a hose retainer clip, and dual safety steps. We also have extra-large 1.25-inch pivot pins that are greaseable at all locations. Don't forget about our powder coat finish and industry-leading two-year warranty.
