Mike - I got a chance to use that bale squeeze this weekend. It is all that you said it was, and it is built heavier than I even expected. I am very happy with it . It makes putting hay in the barn so much faster and easier. I don't think I could have found a better one anywhere thank you!
A skid steer bale squeeze is an attachment for a skid steer loader that is designed to handle and transport large bales of hay, straw, or other materials. It typically consists of two arms that can be hydraulically operated to clamp down on the bale, securing it in place. The bale squeeze attachment can then be lifted and moved using your machine hydraulics.
The bale squeeze is commonly used in agriculture and farming operations to move bales of hay or straw from one location to another, such as from the field to a storage area or feeding area. It can also be used in construction and landscaping projects to move and position large materials such as rocks, logs, or debris.
Our bale squeeze is 63 inches long, 34 inches tall, and 46 inches wide. This size allows for the attachment to open 72 inches in order to pick up even the largest bales.
We try to list operating weight for all of our products. For the bale squeeze, your operating weight will be 460 pounds.
I'm Josh from Skid Pro, and today we're out on the farm to take a close look at the Bale squeeze. This attachment might not be the most common, but it's incredibly handy. Many folks love it, not only for handling and stacking numerous bales but also for managing net wrap and white wrap bales. Its smooth surface handles these types of bales with care, preventing any damage to the wrapping.
When we examine this piece of equipment, it's evident that we've built it with the same robustness that characterizes everything here at Skid Pro. The core of the unit consists of 2 3/8-inch thick-walled steel tubes. We have three of these tubes arranged vertically, stemming from a three-by-three square tubing at the base of the jaw. The Bale squeeze boasts an extra-large opening, stretching over 72 inches in width, with a depth of about 48 inches from the back plate to the front of the jaws. Vertically, you're looking at over 32 inches from the bottom of the jaw to the top.
The jaws themselves are quite heavy, and we've reinforced them with gussets, particularly around high-torque areas. Towards the back of the jaw, we run a half-inch thick, high-density plate steel gusset vertically. Two plates also run horizontally from the vertical gusset back to the main attachment plate. We don't just gusset the jaws; we reinforce the attachment plate as well, with three gussets on each side going into the upper lip, which handles a substantial portion of the lifting force.
One of the most critical components of an attachment like this is the gripping power of the squeeze, and we don't compromise on cylinder quality. We use the same industrial cylinders found on many of our other attachments, like grapples and combo buckets. For this Bale squeeze, it features a high PSI cylinder with a two and a half-inch bore, inch and a quarter rod, and an eight-inch stroke. The industrial cylinder is fully protected with a cylinder guard. To ensure durability and longevity, we use heavy-duty inch and 1/4 hardened pivot pins. There are six of these oversized, greaseable pins on the squeeze. Additionally, we've added three oversized steps, one in the middle and one on each side, to facilitate easy access in and out of the cab.
To top it off, this Bale squeeze comes in a powder coat finish for long-lasting durability and rust protection.
