POPULAR QUESTIONS
A skid steer tiller is used to break up and mix soil, compost, gravel, sand, or other materials. It can also help prepare the ground for planting, landscaping, or construction. A skid steer tiller consists of a rotating drum with metal tines that dig into the soil and turn it over. The depth and width of the tilling can be adjusted by changing the angle and speed of the drum.
Our skid steer tiller has a digging depth of up to 6 inches.
The best results from this tiller will come after you have done some prep work. We suggest going through and cutting your area down. Then, if this is wild soil, go through and spray to kill off everything. After that, you can go ahead and till the soil. If you leave up some brush or vegetation this tiller will still work, but for the most pristine results you should prep, cut, and kill of vegetation prior to tilling.
Both a tiller and a cultivator have their unique strengths. With its versatility, a cultivator, is perfect for lighter soil mixing and weed control in already loose soil. On the other hand, a tiller is a powerhouse, effectively breaking up hard, compacted soil.
Avoid using a tiller in muddy or overly wet soil. This can lead to soil compaction and damage the tiller. Tilling very rocky soil may also damage the tines and reduce effectiveness.
The skid loader’s tilling depth depends on the type of model used. Our skid steer tillers can till up to 6 inches, allowing for thorough soil aeration and nutrient blending.
